David Spencer – “Kelly watched the stars”

Starting bid: $1,800.00

I love listening to music when I’m painting. “Kelly watched the stars” was a big track by AIR, some 8 years ago. It was every where. Such a good groove and I’ve been waiting to title a painting with it.

I think this one suits to perfectly.

Description

Just like all things, everything has humble beginnings. David Spencer always wanted to become an artist, but he didnt have a story to tell. So after his studies he travelled as far as my dollar would take him. Absorbing the greater world, its people, it’s cities, colours and textures. Creating memories from special places and experiences which all sits in waiting for the next canvas to be stretched.

David Spencer never want to be tied to one style of creativity. He creates one-off contemporary artworks. With a point to give a client something special and uniquely there own. Something that no one else has and that makes him feel excited. There’s nothing he’s bound to other than experimenting, so he can keep pushing and trying new things. He’d rather be known for my exploration of different disciplines. Seeking new challenges to further develop his art practice, his learning and his artistic development. He is focused on change and breaking boundaries, where he relish in risks, mistakes and tire of repetition.

After 13 years of painting and exhibiting, David Spencer continues to reference those memories while acceding to urban life, the modern industrial world and natures beauty and surprise. Its when all these elements are combined, he feels his paintings are successful and only then does he feel like an artist.
