Karlie was born and raised in Canberra. Eldest of 6 children. She was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 16. She has always had a creative streak and has long enjoyed drawing, writing, sewing, art & crafts etc.
Karlie started painting mid 2017 after some mental health issues. She finds it easy to get lost in painting, often painting for hours on end.
Her preference is to work with acrylic paints, nail polish, glitter paints and gold and silver leafing. She tends to have multiple paintings on the go at any one time, as her mood determines what she feels like painting.
Karlie’s art is probably most accurately described as Abstract. She does draw inspiration from nature but also likes to experiment with different techniques and styles.
Karlie by no means considers herself a professional artist. She is someone who feel in love with a healthy, productive and creative expression form. Painting.
Karlie is utterly blown away by the support and encouragement she has received from friends, family and strangers, and feels truly honoured that people love her paintings enough to hang them on the walls of their homes.
She looks forward to learning more and watching her work progress, experimenting with different techniques and mediums.
Karlie thanks you for taking the time to read this.
