Kim Neil – “Unexpected”

Current bid: $350.00

1 in stock

Have you ever come across a happy surprise? Running into a friend when you are low, getting to the check out and finding the item you were buying is on sale (scored), a beautiful sunset at the end of a long walk?

This started off as a commission, but I just couldn’t get it to work, so I put it aside and started again. I finished the commission and came across this without the struggle, without the need to impress and what came about was unexpected. I had the feeling I have had before: that happy surprise.

Description

Kim is a self-taught artist and mum. While acrylics are currently her main focus, she enjoys the texture and movement of oils and inks, and experimenting with mixed media. Although she holds a degree in Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science), her art has become her priority. Through schooling and beyond, art has held a grip on her and provided unique opportunities especially when life hasnt been easy with her sons health or her own.

She loves vibrant colours that bring joy or peaceful ones that bring rest. Inspiration comes from the beauty in her natural environment: from the simplicity of her garden, to the majesty of the ocean. Her gorgeous sons also provide inspiration as she seeks to express life lessons, to them, through her art.
