Paula grew up in tropical North Queensland in the 60s and 70s. Paula travelled to the UK and studied a Diploma in Design at Hounslow Borough College, London in the 1980s and worked full time for the British Design Council as a window display designer, prop maker and exhibitions assistant in Piccadilly with the talented Mark Levy.
During the 90s Paula designed and made a range of hand painted Papier Mache jewellery and designed posters and promotional graphics for community and commercial events. Paula completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cultural Studies and Policy in 2000.
A love of DESIGN and ART has travelled with Paula for over 30 years and combined with her visual communication skills, helped Paula create some beautiful houses/gardens.
Paulas childhood epilepsy returned unexpectedly in her late 40s bringing much sadness and disruption but also gave Paula an opportunity to complete a certificate in fine art and further explore her creative capabilities that had hitherto competed with the world of work outside art and design. Paulas first picture to hang in a gallery was in late 2011 Females are different (depicting the regent bower bird) was in the Grafton Regional Gallery.
Paula lives on the NSW North Coast with beautiful budgies, wildlife, plants and a supportive beautyist husband. Paula works in a variety of mediums and describes herself as a Displayist and Beautyist and hopes art and design never separate as together they are a powerful communication display!
