Gouldian Finches (Erythrura gouldiae) are a finch species native to Australia. Wild Gouldian Finches can be found in northern Australia but are sadly in decline in the wild. They are a common bird bred in captivity. Males and females can have black, red or orange heads, although the female colouring is duller than the males. In this drawing I have featured all three colour variations of the males and a black and red female.
