Renae Morris is best known for her vibrant oil paintings. Her rich application gives the surface a soft, almost buttery appearance.
Influences include masters Van Gogh and Clarice Beckett, along with contemporary artists such as Philip Wolfhagen, Kate Shaw, and Alexander McKenzie.
The environment is a recurring theme, stemming from Renae’s immersion in Australian coasts and bushland. This is presented with varying degrees of realism, with some images appearing completely fantastical.
Renae has been drawn to creating art her entire life. In 2010, she graduated from the Australian National University with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Painting).
Her work is kept in private collections internationally.
Renae’s next exhibition will be in Albert Hall, Canberra, on 24 May 2018 as part of the RAW Canberra showcase.
